Description

Authors: Natalie and Meghan Love the Historic Touches!

Flooded with sunshine and skylights, the completely remodeled five bedroom/four and a half bath Bridal Veil home is a 2015 Best of Art & Architecture award winner. Originally built in 1890, aspects of the old miners boarding house are featured throughout, including exposed beams, wide plank hardwood oak floors and two original charming navy blue front doors. An exceptional feature is the custom kitchen wallpaper, featuring a scenic view of 1896 Telluride.

The combination of crisp white walls, crown molding, glass accents and natural wood features create a chic balance of old and new. The Victorian architecture gives great curb appeal, and the full front porch offers panoramic views of Ajax, Ballard and Bear Creek.

A Wonderful Welcome and Exceptional Living Area

Upon entering the home guests are greeted with a light filled living area to the left and an open dining area and chef’s kitchen to the right. The sunbathed living area easily seats eight with luxury furnishings including a duck down sectional couch, two leather armchairs and two low iron and leather stools. A flat screen TV is mounted elegantly above an exposed stone gas fireplace, featuring an unfinished timber mantle from days gone by. An ultra modern chamcha tree slice coffee table with acrylic legs completes the space.

Just through the living area is a well positioned half bath to the left with a porcelain pedestal sink and English Bird wallpaper. Farther down the hall features a light filled guest room with queen bed and en suite bathroom complete with skylight, quartz countertops and glass waterfall shower.

The dining area seats up to eight around a large square oak table featuring two hand blown glass chandeliers and glass wall sconces. The floor plan flows seamlessly into the bright white kitchen. Featuring skylit vaulted ceilings, gray and black fleck granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and a drip coffee maker, any chef is sure to love the six range gas oven, British farmhouse sink and an impressive kitchen island created from original floor joists. Special features include a recessed hidden refrigerator, wine cooler and separate coffee nook just off the kitchen. The nook has two armchairs with an adjustable coffee table, steps from the back door.

Upon entry to the right of the backdoor is a spacious mudroom, equipped with numerous hooks, coat closet, shelving and rubber mats excellent for equipment storage. The quaint backyard houses a Weber grill and historic unfinished wood barn.

Incredible Guest Suites

Up a glass framed hardwood staircase with detailed oak handrail, a light flooded ascent takes guests to a sunny, airy second floor. Each bedroom has cozy carpeting, vaulted ceilings, picture windows, skylights and automatically lit closets.

To the left of the staircase sits the master queen suite. Exposed timber against the stark white vaulted ceiling creates an elegant feel, while the three windows plus bathroom skylight warm the space without missing a view. The master suite features a flat screen TV, en suite well mirrored white stone bathroom with glass steam shower, waterfall shower head and heated towel rack.

Immediately at the top of the staircase sits a second queen guest room with breathtaking views of Ajax Peak. Directly centered above the bed is an elegant skylight, sure to impress with stars at night!

The shared bathroom is just to the left of the second queen room, housing a 4x3 skylight almost the entire size of the ceiling! Flooded with natural light, the glass shower features a waterfall shower head and frosted glass window.

Just down the hall is the third queen guest room, featuring vaulted ceilings with exposed timber at the peak, skylight lit vanity and dual reading lights.

An Excellent Family Gathering Space

Just off the living area is a carpeted staircase to the lower level, featuring a TV room to the right, game room to the left and bunk room with private bathroom.

The TV room hosts a large plush cotton three cushion couch and two blue velvet arm chairs. The flat screen TV is mounted above basket cubbies with books, puzzles and board games. A lovely sliding glass window lets in natural light. Double pocket doors create a private space from the game room if desired. The game room features a durable child’s play table that seats four, an adult two top game table and a corner of cubbies chock full of balls, tinker toys, jumbo Legos, blocks, puzzles, children's books and even fake snowballs! Recessed lighting and plush carpet complete the warm play space. An enchanting feature is a five foot sepia picture of Louis and Chilestina Munchiando, who built the house in 1890.

Just off the game room is a bunk room with two captains bunks fit for any group of children or teens. The room has ample storage space - two bureaus and a closet. Both bunks feature a full size bed on the bottom and a twin size bed up top, including private reading lights and independent outlet for each. There is also a crib available if needed.

Just outside the bunk room is a private bath with a deep trough sink with double faucets and an elegant clawfoot tub with shower. Heated towel rack and sweet features like small wooden stools for the little ones to stand on to brush their teeth as well as brightly colored towel hooks make getting ready for bedtime fun!

mmediately beside the private bath is a full laundry area with front loading washer and dryer, sink and large cabinets complete with laundry essentials. The storage and ample counter space make this a home away from home when caring for the family.
