WONDERFUL WATER ACTIVITIES IN MENORCA

Spain’s beautiful island of Menorca tends to be far less hectic and crowded than some of the other Spanish islands, and it’s the perfect vacation destination for those who are looking for room to breathe. Menorca is famous for its endless beaches, and you’ll actually be able to spend the day at the beach without the need to sit shoulder-to-shoulder with other visitors. When you’re not lounging on the beach, you should definitely take advantage of the island’s many wonderful water activities. These are just a few of the most popular.

Sea Scooter Snorkeling

Come spend an hour exploring the clear waters just off of Cala’n Bosch Beach. This is definitely a unique way to experience snorkeling, and your sea scooter does all of the hard work by pulling you along. This simple-to-handle device also makes it much easier for you to go down a little deeper if you see something that you’d like to investigate. You’ll have the opportunity to swim among the extensive marine life and explore the area’s rocky outcroppings and soft-sand bottom. No experience is necessary, and you’ll have a professional guide with you at all times. You may choose a morning or afternoon outing, and you’ll be provided with everything that you need for a safe and successful snorkeling experience. As an added perk, you’ll have the use of an underwater camera so that you can take pictures and videos of your adventure.

Catamaran Sunset Trip

Couples who are looking to add a bit of romance to their stay couldn’t choose a better activity than this incredible sunset tour. You’ll spend nearly 3 hours sailing around the island, and you’ll have the opportunity to swim or snorkel in the ocean, take in the sites along the scenic coastline and enjoy complimentary drinks and snacks. As the evening nears its end, you’ll watch the sun disappear together and enjoy some snuggle time as the boat sails back to your starting point at Fornells Harbor.

Kayak Tour

This fun activity is great for couples or families who are traveling with children, and you’ll have the chance to visit wonderful spots that are only accessible by kayak. Your kayak will take you into caves and grottoes and close to the cliffs, and you’ll visit several beaches. The adventure begins at Fornells Bay, and you’ll be able to visit beautiful Cala Blanca as well as the mysterious Cave of the English Man. Many rest breaks may be enjoyed on the beaches, and you’re free to snorkel with all equipment provided. This is a 4-hour guided tour that may be taken in the morning or the afternoon, and cold drinks and snacks are provided. No experience is necessary as each participant will be given kayaking lessons before the tour begins.

Diving Adventures

The clear waters that surround the island of Menorca are perfect for diving, and you’ll find exciting diving experiences for every skill level. You can expect to spend your underwater time exploring canyons, tunnels, caverns, overhangs and swim-through natural formations. Many of the caverns are filled with stalagmites, stalactites and other mineral formations that have been created by the waves. You may also request a dive among the shipwrecks or one that concentrates on sea-life encounters. It’s no problem to find huge schools of brilliantly colored tropical fish, octopus, dolphins and sea turtles. Children as young as age 8 may learn to dive in the safety of the swimming pool, and they’ll be fitted with light-weight equipment and allowed to enjoy a game of underwater Frisbee, dive through hoops, learn how to do somersaults under the water and play with some special underwater toys.

Glass Bottom Boat Tours

There’s no better way to see the sea life beneath the incredible Mediterranean Sea than in a large, comfortable glass-bottom boat. Departures are available from Cala Galdana and Cala ‘n Bosch, and you’ll enjoy a panoramic view of the seabed without the need to leave your cushioned seat. See the sharks beneath your feet without fear, and all other underwater inhabitants may follow. You’ll also visit several beaches where you can swim, and the boat comes with two fun waterslides. Tours usually last around 3 hours, and drinks and snacks are provided.
