You’ll also find many street vendors who offer special Day of the Dead treats that you won’t find at any other time of the year, so be sure to indulge yourself with a beautifully handmade and delicious sugar skull.
Punta Mita PeeWee Surfing League
Families who are vacationing with young surfing superstars will enjoy this exciting event that is held in Punta Mita on Saturday, Oct. 14 and again on Saturday, Nov. 25. This exciting competition offers two divisions for children ages 4 to 8 and children ages 9 to 12. A nice award goes to the best performance in each age group, and it’s a fun day for the entire family.
Punta Mita Gourmet and Golf Classic
If you are a lover of fine food and golf, then you’re sure to want to be a part of Punta Mita’s Gourmet and Golf Classic. This event begins on Thursday, Nov. 30, and it runs through Saturday, Dec. 2. Each day is filled with golfing on both of the prestigious Jack Nicklaus courses, the Bahia and the Pacifico. Vallarta-Nayarit Gastronomica Event

This event begins on Sunday, Oct. 22, and it runs straight through Wednesday, Oct. 25. Considered one of the most important culinary affairs in the country, this event features several of the world’s top chefs who have been honored with multiple Michelin stars, and they’re here to showcase some of their most incredible dishes. Those in attendance may enjoy gourmet workshops, premium tastings, multiple cooking activities and the chance to get cooking tips from your favorite chefs.
Triathlon Riviera Nayarit
Those who are feeling in shape and up for a real challenge are welcome to participate in this popular sporting event in neighboring Litibu. Around 700 people are expected this year with ages ranging from as young as 16 and all the way to those over the age of 75. Two different triathlon divisions are available for different skill levels, and each includes swimming, cycling and running at various distances. Additionally, there is a mixed relay and a category that is offered to only the most athletic participants.
