Gourmet and Golf Classic
It’s not too late to catch this amazing event that has been scheduled for Jan. 28-31. You’ll have the chance to win great prizes while playing on Punta Mita’s two stunning, Jack Nicklaus-designed championship golf courses, the Pacifico and the Bahia. During your game, you’ll be treated to a wonderful selection of gourmet food and beverage stations that have been placed strategically throughout both courses. Day of the Dead Celebrations
This may sound like a somber event, but it’s actually a very lively time of honoring the lives of those who have passed on. Usually observed for two days in early November, you can plan on finding huge celebrations in Punta Mita and also in nearby Puerto Vallarta and Sayulita. You’ll be welcome to join in with the locals as they dance in the streets to festive Mariachi music. There will also be large parades, plenty of talented vocalists, a wonderful selection of authentic Mexican cuisine available, tropical drinks in abundance and a fireworks show to bring a gorgeous end to each evening.
Bucerias Oyster Festival
For the last 15 years, the nearby seaside town of Bucerias has hosted this incredible festival at lovely El Punto Beach. It serves to close out the oyster-culling season and honor the local oyster divers. Look for it this April, and you can plan to spend a pleasant day enjoying a boatload of both fresh oysters and fried fish that are offered completely free of charge. Festivities will also include live musical entertainment, a lovely selection of tropical drinks and a prize for the diver bringing in the biggest oyster. Come on out, and you may even have the opportunity to be crowned the queen of the festival.
Punta Mita Beach Festival
Summer is always a wonderful time to hang out at the beach, and you can plan on enjoying this popular beach event for four days in the month of July every year. Sponsored by the St. Regis Punta Mita Resort, you’re sure to enjoy festivities that include gourmet dining, tequila sampling and dancing under the stars. There will also be yoga on the beach, surfing clinics, a sandcastle competition and lovely beach bonfires each night.
