Christmas Eve
In Punta Mita, visitors are treated like family on this special day. You’re welcome to attend Midnight Mass whether you’re Catholic or not, and this is followed by a special late-night dinner celebration. Restaurants in town as well as private residences will open to visitors, and you’ll sit down to a delicious feast that includes homemade tamales, refried beans, traditional Mexican soups and stews and dried and salted cod caught fresh out of the ocean waters. There will also be Mexican cocoa and plenty of wine to go along with the meal.
Christmas Carols
Those arriving by Friday, Dec. 21, may stop in at the Residents Beach Club from 6 to 7 p.m. to hear the PEACE Punta de Mita Foundation Choir entertain with your favorite Christmas carols in both English and Spanish. It’s fun for the entire family, and you’re all welcome to join in.
New Year’s Eve White Party
Come say goodbye to 2018 and welcome in the New Year with a celebration at the Kupuri Beach Club. It begins at 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 31, and continues on until 3 a.m. on New Year’s Day. You’re invited to attend in your dressiest or most creative whites and enjoy music and dancing with DJ Mau Moctezuma. Chef Persico is set to prepare a lavish dinner after you’ve had time to enjoy cocktails by the pool, and the bar will remain open until the 3 a.m. closing time. We know all that dancing is bound to make you hungry, so there will also be taco and churro stations open throughout the party.
Family Holiday Fun on Las Cuevas Beach
This is one of Punta Mita’s most beautiful beaches, and Santa Claus is expected to make a dramatic entrance from above as he parachutes onto the beach on Christmas day to the delight of all the children in attendance. Time has not yet been announced for this year’s festivities, but the entire family may enjoy some seasonal activities that include holiday games, photos with Santa, face painting, Christmas pinatas and time to enjoy Christmas cookies and other holiday treats.
There’s also a family New Year Eve’s celebration planned for Dec. 31 on this same beach from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., and you’ll enjoy live Latin music as you dine on delicious Spanish and Mexican foods that are available at several live food stations. Fireworks are set off over the ocean at the stroke of midnight, and there will be a nice selection of champagne and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available throughout the event as well as plenty of dancing on the beach.
