Tulum Beach
This popular beach boasts the cleanest, softest sand and a long stretch of coastline for a pleasant, barefoot walk with your sweetie or your children. The clear water is welcoming to swimmers and snorkelers, and there’s a cove area where the water stays calm for safe play for the youngest visitors. You’re sure to enjoy watching the many pelicans and other seabirds diving into the waters to pick up their lunch at this beach, and there are several restaurants and bars that have set up beach chairs with umbrellas near the water where you’re welcome to lounge and enjoy a fancy tropical cocktail that is brought out to you by the staff.
Caleta Tankha Beach
Clean, clear and calm waters make this the perfect beach to take the children, and there’s also a simply gorgeous cenote situated just a short stroll from the main beach. There is a very small fee for entering this private beach area, but it’s worth it for all that it comes with. Lounge on the most comfortable sunbeds beneath the palm trees while being served chairside, and you’ll enjoy several menu items from the onsite restaurant/bar that include freshly made guacamole with chips, quesadillas, mango smoothies, mojitos and margaritas in many natural flavors. The sand is very soft on the feet, and you’ll definitely want to enjoy a swim in the tranquil, pristine cenote.
Playa Pescadores
Known locally as Fisherman’s Beach, it’s a lovely spot where you can watch the locals take out small boats to fish and bring their catches into the restaurant that will then prepare the most delicious fresh-fish dishes. The water is nice and clear, and there’s a swimming area away from the boats with plenty of snorkeling opportunities. This beach also gets active at night with live bands often playing music into the wee hours and much dancing around bonfires. The beach bar stays open as long as the music goes on, and you may bring a blanket or sit in one of the many beach chairs provided by the restaurant and bar while you enjoy the music.
