Enthusiastic runners from around the globe are expected to compete in the 100.5-mile Hardrock Hundred Endurance Race that has been scheduled for July 20-22. Only for the most accomplished runners, this race requires participants to run through the San Juan Mountains and includes climbs and descents of more than 33,000 feet with a total elevation change of more than 66,000 feet. The entire run is on a loop that begins and ends in nearby Silverton, Colorado, with travel through Telluride, Ouray and Sherman, and the cut-off time for finishing the race is 48 hours. All the runners have been selected for this year's race, but those in training now should check back here for information about signing up for the 2019 race.
