The deep blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea are a natural draw to visitors from all around the globe, and many choose Spain's incredible island of Mallorca as their regular vacation destination. It may be difficult to fit in all of the wonderful water activities that are available, but you'll definitely want to do some snorkeling. This is something that most any age group can enjoy, and it's a beautiful experience to be able to swim among the many colorful and interesting inhabitants of the sea. 1. For Beginners and Children

This activity begins with a fun boat ride to two separate snorkeling sites near Mallorca's most beautiful beaches, and the locations are chosen based on water and weather conditions.

You can always count on being taken to the calmest, clearest and most shallow waters, and there will also be time for a beach walk so that everyone may collect seashells. Expect a lesson on snorkeling safety before you enter the water, and this tour is offered daily beginning at 2 p.m. with check-in at the shop in Calas de Mallorca. The tour ends at 6 p.m., and a quality mask and snorkel is provided for each participant.

2. Family Adventure

Adventure Sports Skualo offers this family friendly experience for everyone age 6 and over, and it begins with check-in at its Alcudia location. Each participant will be outfitted with top-of-the-line snorkeling gear from such trusted brands as Aqualung, Cressi and Mares, and this includes an appropriately sized mask with snorkel and fins. You'll enjoy a comfortable boat ride of up to 30 minutes that takes you along the Cap Formentor or the Cap Pinar.

Upon arrival at the snorkel site, a certified instructor will teach you how to use the equipment properly before accompanying you into the water in case further assistance is needed. Expect to see an abundance of sea life that includes starfish, damsel fish, needle fish, the broad-nosed pipe fish, cuttle fish and octopus. 3. Malgrats Marine Reserve

Those who want to snorkel among the most sea creatures are sure to enjoy this tour through ZOEA in Santa Ponsa. Thanks to its protected status, Malgrats Marine Reserve is home to a great many underwater inhabitants that include octopus, damsel fish, cardinal fish, sponges, soft red corals, barracuda, wrasse, grouper and sea-grass gardens. The tour includes a 30-minute boat ride and a full hour of snorkeling in crystal-clear waters. All equipment is included, and you must know how to swim to participate.

4. Snorkeling With Dolphins

The local crew knows exactly where to find the dolphins so that you'll be able to swim with them in their natural habitat, and giant manta rays also often join in the fun. 5. Cabrera National Park

Available every day of the week through Aventura IB, which is based in Palma de Mallorca, this is a full-day tour that offers a stop at two pristine snorkeling spots within the Cabrera National Park, located south of Mallorca. This protected area boasts the best-preserved sea bottom on the entire coast, and the underwater inhabitants are abundant in these crystal-clear waters.

A 75-minute boat ride takes you on a comfortable, beautiful ride to Cabrera, and you'll enjoy the first snorkeling spot upon arrival. The second time for snorkeling is in the afternoon near the gorgeous Blue Cave. While everyone who plans to snorkel must know how to swim, children of all ages are welcome on this tour as long as a responsible adult is with them at all times.
