Each July, Moroccans show off their heritage during the immensely popular Marrakesh Festival of Popular Arts. Visitors from all around the globe converge on the city to enjoy a festive atmosphere that includes a grand parade, live musical entertainment, folk dancers and belly dancers, Berber music, poem readings, snake charmers, fortune tellers, all manner of street performers, art shows and artistic performances and cultural activities. Several workshops are also open to visitors, and these focus on traditional crafts, folklore, cinema and art. Activities are held at venues throughout Marrakesh that include El Badi Palace and Le Village, and this event has something for all age groups. Exact dates will be released closer to July.
