About Festival Sayulita
In its fourth exciting year, Festival Sayulita is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Feb. 1, and it’s going to run for five full days and nights straight through Sunday, Feb. 5. Festival enthusiasts won’t want to miss this multi-faceted event that offers an international film festival, live musical concerts, a huge surfing competition, incredible gourmet tastings and pairings, a special day for children and many other fun and exciting activities throughout the festival. Fabulous Film Screenings
Filmmakers from all around the globe flock to Festival Sayulita just for the chance to have their films screened, and they definitely don’t disappoint their audience. Visitors can expect to have the opportunity to see more than 50 films in the categories of feature films, documentaries, short films, animation, action sports and stop motion. Films will be screened at all hours in venues all over town, and there will be several screenings held outside on the beach. Special private screenings will be offered as well.
Live Music and Dancing
Throughout Festival Sayulita, you’ll be treated to live music from local bands as well as some of the best bands from around the world. Live concerts will be held at several local venues throughout the town, and the beach will come alive with music each evening. Be ready to dance, and you’ll definitely want to catch the featured concert on the evening of Saturday, Feb. 4. Huge crowds are expected to turn out for the immensely popular Jungle Live band, which will be performing at the Quintas Trujillo.

No festival would be complete without showcasing the best foods and drinks that the locals can produce, and you’re in for a gastronomical treat. Visitors are invited to participate in a wonderful selection of pairing dinners during the evening of Thursday, Feb. 2. The chefs from several local restaurants will create their finest dishes, and these will be perfectly paired with the finest Mexican wines. You’ll find authentic Mexican dishes available throughout the festival, and some wonderful new Mexican craft beers will be available for sampling.
A Special Day for the Children
While you may leave your children in Punta Mita with a qualified child caregiver for much of the festival, you’ll definitely want to bring them for their own special day of festival activities on Friday, Feb. 3. There will be pony rides, face painting, special treats, music and games and fun on the beach. This day is made for families, and children of all ages are guaranteed a safe and fun outing.
